City Manager

The City Manager implements the policies and goals of the City Council and provides leadership, coordination and development of city departments. The primary objective of the City Manager’s Office is to manage overall operations, including personnel, labor relations, and preparation and administration of the budget – all while ensuring quality service to the public. This is accomplished through the expressed direction of the Mountlake Terrace City Council.

The city contracts with a City Attorney to provide legal advice to City Council, City Manager, Boards and Commissions, and staff. The City Attorney reviews ordinances, resolutions and contracts, advises Council and staff at public meetings, conducts research, and represents the city in potential and pending litigation.

One of the best ways to stay informed about what’s happening in Mountlake Terrace is to read the City Manager’s Weekly Update. You can sign up for this email via "Notify Me."
