At their June 17, 2019 meeting, the City Council recognized the efforts of MLTNews founder Dustin DeKoekkoek and current publisher Teresa Wippel for ten years of service to the Mountlake Terrace community!
As part of their recently approved budget, the State has included $750,000 to help fund activities related to Phase II of the Main Street Project (roadway and utility improvements to 56th Avenue W between 236th and 230th Streets SW). Phase I of the Main Street Revitalization Project is fully funded and currently under construction. The city has been working with its state and federal delegations to fund Phase II.
In addition, the State awarded the city $350,000 in grant funding from the Recreation and Conservation Office to apply towards the Evergreen Playfield Turf Conversion Project. Additionally, $250,000 in Land Water Conservation Funds was appropriated for Ballinger Park’s ADA playground.

The City Council, Congressman Rick Larsen and Snohomish County Councilmembers Terry Ryan and Stephanie Wright officially broke ground on the Main Street project in April. The project connects the future light rail station and Mountlake Terrace Transit Center to the city's Town Center. Local residents and city staff participated in the celebration.
Former Mayor Jerry Smith, Recreation Supervisor Kevin Witte, and the Bicentennial Park Trail Project were recognized at the Washington Recreation and Parks Association’s (WRPA) Annual Conference in Vancouver, Washington.

Girl Scout Troop 41246 including Stephanie Kha, Neeva Shrestha, Holland Hornaday, and Jessie Tong with Troop Leader Heather Margo decided to paint a new swing set to be installed at Terrace Creek Park. The Troop wanted to keep the "Candy Cane" theme so they taped and masked the swing set and Carstar Collision donated a professional red and white striped paint job for the set.
Eagle Scout Candidate Jared Popelka submitted an Eagle Scout candidacy project to assist the city to install the new swing set. The city celebrated the work with the fabulous volunteers and Carstar Collision.
